Zilker Park is the place to be this weekend, as evidenced by the mile long crowds pouring into the main entrance on Barton Springs Road.
There are plenty of talented musicians on the schedule for today, and many of them are in Austin for their first time.
Seeing so many people excited about the same thing makes music festivals like this one a unique, often once-in-a-lifetime experience for a lot of people.
On my schedule for the day is Miike Snow at 3 p.m., who is a talented up-and-coming artist, whose songs “Sylvia,” and “Animal” are worth checking out.
From there, I’ll be leaving early to check out The Black Keys, who let’s face it are on everybody’s hot-list right now.
Then, of course Beach House. They’ve been on tour with Vampire Weekend recently, stopping in Dallas this past Wednesday. If that’s a new name on your radar, check out their songs “Zebra,” “Norway” and “Heart of Chambers.”
At 6 p.m. I will be at Amos Lee’s concert who I was just able to meet up with in the media tent and chat for a free minutes about inspiration, Austin and what’s going on in his career currently.
Then of course Conan O’ Brien’s favorite band, Vampire Weekend.
Finally, I’ve made the big decision of the day and will be catching The Strokes as my headliner tonight, rather than Phish.
I’ll live tweet throughout the day, and you can keep up with me at LaVieSmart.
Drop me an email if you want to meet up!
