The SMU men’s soccer team moved from No. 7 to No. 3 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll this week, after the team dominated the SMU Radisson Hotel Invitational last weekend. The Mustangs managed to shut out both Cincinnati and Cal, making them 4-0 in regular season play. SoccerAmerica.com and CollegeSoccerNews.com each have SMU ranked at No. 2 in their polls for this week.
This weekend Westcott field re-opens on the SMU campus, just in time for the men’s soccer team to host its annual SMU Mi Cocina Classic. The Classic begins with Tulsa taking on Brown Friday at 5 p.m. SMU faces Indiana University Friday at 7:30 p.m. In their last match-up, the Hoosiers from Indiana beat the Mustangs 4-0. SMU looks to increase its winning streak to 6-0 this weekend. The Mustangs take on Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
