Junior Rachael Forish was actually SMU’s first Conference-USA champion of the year. Before the Men and Women’s soccer teams won their respective regular season titles, Forish finished a full nine seconds before Rice’s Marissa Daniels came in second at East Carolina’s University Track.
Forish placed fourth in the conference championship last season and was the only SMU representative at the NCAA Cross Country Championships a season ago.
Being named to the First Team All-Conference was Forish who took two-second place finishes and two other top-ten finishes this season.
Forish will next run at the NCAA South Central Regionals in Waco on Nov. 11.
