After starting off the inagural Oklahoma Intercollegiate with two less than stellar opening rounds the team stepped it up in the third and final round. The Mustangs shot a tournament low 287.
At the end of the first two rounds SMU saw themselves in eighth place in the team competition and team leading player, Colt Knost, in 27th in the individual standings shooting a final round 70 to end the tournament at 226.
But a stand out third round catapulted SMU into third place, and Knost moved himself into ninth. Also placing top 15 finishes were Brandon DeStefano and Dan Kleckner.
The men’s team is done with tournaments for the semester and will compete in John Burns Invitational held in Hawaii Feb. 20-22.
