SMU tennis player Alex Skrypko advances to the ITA National Indoor tournament after competing in the finals of the ITA Regionals.
Skrypko, a junior, will be playing among the 32 best college players in the nation, according to Head Coach, Carl Neufeld. In order to reach the ITA National Indoor, Skrypko participated in the Regional tournament last weekend and earlier this week at TCU, in which he was seeded third. After facing a number of ranked players, he met Bojan Szumanksi of Texas Tech in the final.
Skrypko and doubles partner Federico Murgier advanced to the round of 16, where they fell 4-8 to Jason Mok and Christoph Muller of Rice.
This is the second consective year that SMU will send a player to the ITA National Indoor tournament, which begins Nov. 2 in Columbus, Ohio.
