SMU’s bowl dreams ended bitterly Saturday in Houston with a 31-27 loss to the Rice Owls. The Mustangs fought back after going down 17-0 in the first quarter, but lost on a fourth-quarter touchdown pass caught by Jarrett Dillard. SMU ended the season bowl eligible but will be left out of the bowl season because other Conference USA teams have seven wins. For a full recap, turn to Page 5.
