Library workers to be honored with award

Four $500 awards will go to those making outstanding contributions to the SMU libraries. The Committee for the SMU Libraries Staff Recognition Awards is seeking nominations now for the 2001-2002 awards.

Nominations are due by noon on Wednesday. Submit nominations using the electronic form available at www.smu.edu/libraries/award.html.

Faculty recognized for artistic works

The Third Annual Recognition Day for Faculty Authorship, Editorship and Artistic Works will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fondren Library.

Provost Ross Martin will congratulate the faculty for its achievements and contributions to the university. Additions to the Faculty Plaza will also be recognized.

Flag lowered for Cox master’s student

The flag was lowered Monday in memory of Cord Bevins, a graduate student in SMU’s Cox School of Business.

Bevins died Friday morning in an automobile accident at Central Expressway and Northwest Highway. He is survived by his wife and 10-month-old child.
