Four SMU students reported being robbed at gunpoint at their Amesbury apartment at 1:30 a.m. Sunday March 3, 2013 according to a crime alert issued by SMU Police Monday evening.
The students told SMU Police that two men forced their way into their apartment demanding money and drugs.

The men took the students’ wallets and other personal belongings as the student’s told police they did not have any drugs.

 According to the crime alert, the two students first spoke with the men outside their apartment. The two men then knocked on the student’s door asking for water.

During this time, the students’ friends came to see them. They were also robbed.

The students reported to police that the alleged robbers were in a burgundy-colored, older model, four-door Buick.

One of the alleged robbers was described as a thinly built black male about 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 25 years old.

According to the student’s he was wearing a black hoodie with a black headband, and his hair was braided underneath the hoodie.

He was described as having scruffy facial hair and was wearing baggie jeans rolled up with white socks and tennis shoes. He told the students he graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 2005.

The other was a stocky black male about 6 feet tall with short hair and about 25 years old. The crime alert said he was wearing a red Budweiser jacket, baggie jeans and tennis shoes.

There was also a female passenger, who was described by the students as a black female with blonde hair.

This incident is currently being investigated by the Dallas Police Department.
