George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars are going to tear the roof off the Gypsy Tea Room Saturday night. For those who have not seen the P-Funks live, you’ve been missing out.
Clinton and his band visited SMU two years ago and gave a great performance at McFarlin Auditorium. Needless to say, there was a lot of smoke in the air.
With a large ensemble band, creative, funky bass lines and signature freakiness, the show is sure to be jumping.
Clinton has been touring around the country since the ’70s, recently choosing smaller venues with more intimate atmospheres.
The group’s current tour has taken them to Denver, Austin and now to Dallas. The reviews have been good and expectations for the Tea Room show are positive.
Ticket prices are a bit higher than for some acts, but sometimes you have to pay a little more to rock with the best.
After all, how many more chances do you have to see Dr. Funkenstein himself?
