The Study Abroad program at SMU is a chance to gain a unique perspective while earning a degree.
Each year, approximately 30 percent of SMU students participate in the study abroad program. The program allows students to experience a different culture and immerse themselves in new customs, traditions and lifestyles.
The Study Abroad Spring Fair, held in the Hughes-Trigg commons area, is a chance to get acquainted with the Study Abroad program.
The Fair, held Wednesday from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m., will serve as a source for students considering spending a semester overseas. The program directors will be in attendance and will be available for any questions or concerns.
There will be brochures and applications for the fall, spring and summer sessions. The locations offered include: France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia and many more.
Many SMU students are planning to study abroad this coming year.
Sophomore Anna Lee plans to attend Italy next fall.
“I am so excited for the opportunity to travel abroad,” she said. “I cannot wait to learn about a new culture and the native language.”
For anyone who has not yet made their travel abroad plans, the Spring Fair is an opportunity to get more information on this unique experience.
