Graduating Seniors,
On behalf of all of the faculty and staff from the Lyle School of Engineering, I want to congratulate the Class of 2009.
We are very proud to have been your teachers, mentors and friends. We have been privileged to have seen you grow and develop into highly skilled engineers, technologists and future leaders.
Through your hard work and learning, you are now ready to take your place as society’s innovators and “agents of change.” Past generations have brought about remarkable marvels – what will you now do with your new knowledge, skills, drive and energy? Just as we watched with wonder and excitement as you grew before our eyes, we will be watching you, as our newest alumni, go about doing the good work of changing the world.
I encourage you to take on your new responsibilities with seriousness and purpose, use your talents with integrity and remember that above all else, engineering is a discipline long committed to service to humanity. You make us very proud!
