Lambda Chi and SAE
The Lambda Chi Alpha and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternities can expect to begin moving into their new houses during Homecoming weekend, according to Campus Planning and Plant Operations.
Over the next two weeks, workers will be moving in furniture and making finishing touches.
Presidential Suite
Dr. R. Gerald Turner is expected to move back to his renovated presidential suite during the middle of November, according to CPPO.
Dedman Center
The completion date for Phase II of the Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports is on schedule. Construction crewmembers have finished demolishing the interior walls of the old Dedman Center, according to Dedman Center Director Judith Banes. The next step is reconfiguration.
“I think the students will be really surprised when they see the new Dedman,” Banes said.
“It will be another ‘wow’ thing come May ’06.”
The sand volleyball courts, which were a part of the Phase I plan, will now be completed with Phase II. Currently, the court locations are being used as a lay-down area for construction equipment.
J. Lindsay Embrey Engineering Building
The foundation of the basement has been poured and construction is continuing on the second floor. It will be completed and ready for classes in mid-August, according to CPPO.
