Following her recognition at the end of last season as a 2008 All-Conference USA team member, senior Kim Peabody continues to defy expectations, earning a spot on the preseason All-Conference team heading into the 2009 season.
Playing in all 20 games last season, including every minute of 17 of SMU’s matches, Peabody added one goal in a win over Marshall.
The St.Louis native also totaled 108 minutes in last year’s double-overtime tie against Mississippi State.
Peabody started on the Hilltop in midfield, but was moved to the Mustang’s backfield in 2007. So far, she has eight goals and two assists, and was the top scoring freshman in 2006 with four goals and two assists.
Graduating from Ursuline Academy, Peabody was also named to the All-Freshman Team and Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2006 and was named to the All-Conference USA Team in 2008.
