Spring has sprung, and Dallas locals’ favorite meal can finally be enjoyed outdoors. Warmer weather has prompted many local restaurants to reopen their patio seating for brunching weekenders. Listed below are the restaurants with the trendiest patios that hungry SMU students are bound to love.
Deep Ellum’s hot-spot for American favorites features a rooftop patio with views to stun customers. They are open for brunch Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. The Giant Cinnamon Roll is one of STIRR’s most popular brunch items, and appears frequently—with the Dallas skyline as its backdrop—on the snapchat stories of SMU students.
HG Supply Co. is considered a Dallas staple to many SMU students. It’s Greenville location is close to campus and features a rooftop patio with space for large parties. They open at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and the upstairs patio serves only from a limited menu. Their honest ingredients, affordability, and hospitality are what keeps mustangs returning week after week.
If an open patio on a sunny Dallas day is not enticing enough, performances by local talents at The Rustic might do the trick. Brunch hours are 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. with live music staring at 12:30 p.m. The brunch options are served family-style and include a variety of country foods with urban twists.
