Senior theater major Derek George has written a play about marine life in amusement parks called “Captivity.” SMU Student Theatre is producing a staged reading of the play on November 1 at 1 p.m. in the Owen’s Art Center in room B430.

The play focuses on the poor conditions of amusement parks when it comes to aquatic animals like Orcas. The Orca is trapped in heinous conditions, and the workers are equally trapped in jobs that weren’t what they had envisioned for themselves.

The play is sure to be entertaining and thought provoking.
