The SMU Equestrian team fell to Stephen F. Austin on Sunday with a raw score defeat of 541-538. The Mustangs tied the Ladyjacks 4-4, but lost in the raw score. SMU freshman Megan Davenport was the MVP in Equitation on the Flat, scoring a high 80 points. SMU finished with a 3-1 advantage on the Flat competition with Davenport, Melissa Kowalchik (78) and Kristen Collins (79) taking victories. Collins posted SMU’s only victory in Equitation over Fences with 74 points. The Mustangs are 2-4 in dual competitions this season. Their next competition is in Fresno, Calif., against Fresno State on March 3.
