Thirty first-year students ran for a space in the Student Senate and only five got spots. The five new student senators are:

Spencer Forrest
Greg Hopkins
Precious Osuchukwu
Alexander Porter
“I am excited to work with this group of five people,” said Student Body President, Ramon Trespalacios. “Through interactions [with them] I have learned that they really love this University.”
The Student Senate holds meetings every Tuesday in Hughes-Trigg Student Center that are open to the public. The SMU community is encouraged to attend these meetings to voice their opinions.
