SMU is the highest-ranked Conference USA school in the first winter 2006-2007 U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup Division I standings. This is the eighth consecutive year SMU has been the top of its conference on the list, placing at No. 41 overall. Only two other Texas schools ranked higher on the list, which is compiled by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The University of Texas placed fourth, while Texas A&M ranked 26th. Houston was second in C-USA schools placing 97th. The rankings are based on the performance of each school’s athletic squads.
