Conference USA announced its 2007 swimming and diving individual award winners Tuesday. SMU and Houston swept the four awards, with SMU taking two and Houston taking three (they shared one award). SMU’s Petra Klosova earned the C-USA Swimmer of the Year honor. The sophomore placed ninth at the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.50. Teammate Angela San Juan Cisneros shares the Newcomer of the Year award with Ginni van Katwijk from Houston. She also earned All-American honors at the NCAA championships on the 200-yard freestyle relay team. The junior transfer from Spain holds SMU’s top time in the 100-yard butterfly.
