If SMU’s women’s basketball team wanted another challenge, then they certainly have it after the release of the NCAA brackets. The Mustangs will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana – home of Purdue University and the site of the game – for a first round match-up against No. 5 seed Notre Dame. The game is on Easter Sunday, March 23, and is essentially a home game for the Fighting Irish. A little more than two hours separate the campuses of Notre Dame and Purdue.Notre Dame finished the season in fourth place in the Big East with a record of 23-8. They are ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll.
