The SMU rowing team has had five competitions this season and already one this spring.

The event against Creighton just before Spring Break saw the Mustangs defeat the Blue Jays in the Varsity Eight competition. Since then, SMU had practices over the break in preparation for Kansas this weekend.

The Mustangs will travel to Lawrence, Kan. to take on the Jayhawks on the Kansas River.

This will be Kansas’ first competition of the spring after defeating Kansas State in their final meet of the fall. The Jayhawks have been training in Austin due to inclement weather.

The University of Texas will also compete. The Longhorns are coming off hosting the Longhorn Invitational. After dominating the first two days, Central Florida earned the Best of Texas in the final day of competition.

After traveling to Kansas the Mustangs will return home to Dallas and White Rock Lake when the Crimson Tide of Alabama come to Texas on March 31.
