Here are five brand new spring trends for all you aspiring fashionistas to rock this spring.

1) Clingy, strapless dresses

This trend is very oh so ‘Sex in the City.’ You can try these dresses in a bold color, a flowered print or even with a touch of lace. Finding a cut that flatters your body shape is the key, whether it be an A-line shape or a gathering of fabric at the waistline to hide your less-than-perfect mid section. It should fit very clingy (there is a difference between clingy and too tight) and stop anywhere below mid thigh. You don’t want it too short you want to keep it classy like Carrie, not scandalous like Samantha.

2) Cropped jackets

These shrunken blazers come in all colors, textures, and a variety of details. Cropped jackets are best when worn over a pretty lace or beaded hem shirt. Great buys can be found at Bebe, where black velvet cropped jackets can be found for $98. Forever 21 carries a cutesy green-cropped jacket with light green piping for only $14.80. You can pair these items with skirts, shorts, jeans or whatever floats your boat.

3) Long Skinny Jeans

This by far is my favorite new trend! Celebrities such as Kate Bosworth and Jessica Simpson have been spotted rocking this 80’s inspired trend. Buy a pair of skinny jeans that extends a few inches past your ankles so they bunch up at the bottom. Ladies be very careful of your shoe choice- skinny jeans are best paired with heels, embellished flats or tucked into boots. Be sure to keep the jeans relatively simple (no beads or extra embellishments) you want to be sure you don’t over power the jeans because they are such a strong fashion statement on their own. Snag them from hot designers like Rock & Republic, Miss Sixty, Diesel, Seven for All Mankind and Levis.

4) Vests with Bare Arms

This trend looks hot when paired with a simple tank. You can rock this trend in a variety of styles: denim, bright colors, plaid- the list goes on. Put some imagination into it! Make sure the vest is fitted and not too long- you want to look trendy not old school. Great buys are Tommy Hilfiger’s fitted hot pink vest for $39 or a cropped white army style vest by Andrew & Co. for $15.

5) Slim Pencil Skirts

Okay, so this isn’t such a new trend, but the pencil skirt is coming back with a vengeance. This trend looks hottest when worn high on the waist with your top tucked in and paired with a belt to accentuate the narrow skirt structure. Club Monaco, Banana Republic, and Diesel have hot styles that will make you look fab!
