The SMU men’s golf team, ranked No. 15 in the nation by Golf World/NIKE, competed this past weekend in the Lonestar Invitational, which was hosted by The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Twelve Division-I teams competed in the tournament this year, including No. 10 The University of Texas at Austin and No. 16 Texas A&M. The teams played a total of 54 holes over two days.
Leading the Mustangs was junior Kelly Kraft, who tied for fourth with a score of 6-under 210. Senior Ben Tewes climbed his way up the leader board and finished seventh with a score of 5-under 211.
SMU ranked third overall 4-over 868, following behind leader Texas A&M, 16-under 848, second-place finisher, Texas, 6-under 858 and UTSA, finished in eighth with a 32-over 896.
