Newly appointed Dean of Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Cordelia Candelaria, gives the Opening Convocation address to the Class of 2012 and their parents in McFarlin Auditorium Sunday evening.
Candelaria was named the new dean in March and officially began July 1. She came from Arizona State University where she served as Regents Professor in the English Department and the Department of Transborder Chicano/a and Latino/a Studies as well as being the associate dean of the Office of Stratigic Initiatives in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
