The members of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) sure know how to throw a party. Their back-to-school BBQ on August 25 – complete with fun outdoor games, live music, free food and fellowship – was so successful they held another one the next night.
The two BBQ’s wild success was evident on Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center when RUF met for their first official meeting of the 2015-2016 school year.
The most students in SMU RUF’s history attended its weekly large group with campus minister James Madden to “grow together in grace, respect each individual, and love and serve the campus.”
The spirit of the back-to-school BBQs continued as attendees jammed out to live tunes and snacked on yummy goodies. Members also discussed their hopes of challenging new ideas, affirming the truth and helping neighbors flourish, all while living faithfully in their call to love SMU.
Future RUF events to look forward to include freshman dinners (at campus favorites such as East Hampton Sandwich Co.), ladies’ nights out including dinner and small groups, and its very own fantasy football league.
To learn more, join RUF every Tuesday night in the Varsity at its new time of 8 p.m. and follow it on Facebook and Instagram.
