Ever dreamed that your research could spark a global change? Students from all disciplines can apply to present their ideas to the Lyle School of Engineering’s inaugural HUNTALKS: Innovations for Social Impact series by Thursday, Feb. 11.

Those accepted will have the opportunity to receive free coaching and mentoring from TEDxSMU experts in February and March. The HUNTALKS will take place Thursday, April 28.

The series will bring visibility to speakers’ research and connect students and professionals in the DFW area in similar fields of study.

Any research with the potential for social impact, especially regarding the global poor, is welcomed. Students can present capstone projects or past term papers.

The series is part of an initiative by the Lyle School’s Hunter and Stephanie Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity to eradicate extreme poverty through action and empowerment instead of charity.
