SMU students can learn how to detect stalking through the lecture “When Does Love Cross the Line: Understanding Stalking,” a forum hosted by the Office of Violence Prevention.
The free lecture will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16 in Hughes-Trigg and is one of many events focused on relationships in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day. Other events include a play, a lecture about love, and a seminar about relationships.
The university is hoping to help students answer, “What is Love at SMU?” with a week of Valentine’s Day inspired events. Each event will promote safe, mutual and uplifting messages about relationships.
Ashley Fitzpatrick, assistant director of student activities, has emailed each president in the Panhellenic community to make all sorority women aware of these events.
The Office of Violence Prevention asks students to use the hashtag, #LoveIsSMU, to connect everyone who is attending the event on campus through social media.
