Critic A. O. Scott will present his book, “Better Living Through Criticism” at 7 p.m. Monday, March 14 in Wesley Hall.
The event is free. No registration is required for the presentation.
The Highland Park Library sponsors the event, Friends of the SMU Library, and Highland Park United Methodist Church.
The former book critic for Newsday, Scott has been The New York Times film critic since 2000, and his contributions to publications including Lingua Franca and The New York Times Magazine have examined a wide range of cultural artifacts.
Scott is expected to show that criticism is one of the most creative ways to think.
