Faculty and staff to still receive free tickets

Last week The Daily Campus was told that there would be several changes coming to faculty and staff tickets. But in an e-mail that was sent out from Athletic Director Steve Orsini to faculty and staff, the changes concerning only this year were described.

The Daily Campus reported that beginning next season faculty and staff would no longer receive the two complimentary tickets that they had been given in the past due to IRS tax restrictions. The school will accommodate the faculty and staff for this season, but starting next year, free tickets would not be available. Faculty and staff will receive a 20 percent discount on tickets purchased.

That was information received before any final details had been decided. The athletic department will follow the system of two free tickets for the game and re-evaluate the situation at the end of this season.

The only official change taking place is how tickets are picked up and parking for the faculty. Unlike seasons in the past, tickets will not be available before the game. Faculty will enter through Gate six with their ID card and receive their tickets at the gate. Also, faculty and staff will be allowed to park in the Moody and Airline Garages.
