SMU dropped both games on a short conference road swing. WAC-leading Fresno State punished SMU 76-56 Saturday in Fresno.
The Bulldogs came out hot, connecting on 61 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half.
SMU went into the half down 40-27, due in part to poor shooting.
Senior guard Quinton Ross led SMU in scoring with 18 points but made only 5-of-13 from the field.
His counterpart, Fresno guard Damon Jackson, made four of his nine three-point attempts and finished with 16 points.
Fresno had four players score in double figures.
“It was almost exactly like Thursday’s loss to Nevada,” head coach Mike Dement said. “We started out well, but we haven’t been able to sustain anything on this trip. We have to regroup and commit to finishing games.”
The Mustangs previously lost to Nevada 82-64.
SMU fell to 12-11, 7-6 in the WAC, while Fresno continues to lead the conference with an 18-5 mark, 11-3 in conference.
SMU now prepares to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who visit Moody Coliseum on 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Moody Coliseum.
