The February 5th police reports noted that a scanner was reported stolen from Room101A, Fondren Library. The report did not note that Room 101A is the Assistive Technology Center which provides computers, peripherals, and software to support library users with visual and learning disabilities.
I can only conclude that you who took the scanner are someone with a desperate need for a scanner. I know you did not stop and consider that other students may have had difficulty in passing a quiz or completing an assignment because they needed the scanner in order to do their course readings.
Scanners, such as the one you took, are available for approximately $80.00. If you will contact me and return the library’s scanner, I will go with you to a local computer store and purchase a scanner for you. Contact me at my office, Rm. 104D, Fondren Library.
