An SMU student reported a robbery to SMU Police on the west side of campus Thursday at approximately 11:30 p.m.
According to the police report, the student was walking between the north side of Owen Arts Center and the south side of Mary Hay Hall and Peyton Hall when a man approached her, grabbed her arm, robbed her of her property and fled. She said she did not see a weapon.
The suspect is described as an adult black male with facial hair about 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt, dark pants and light-colored tennis shoes during the incident.
SMU Police and University Park Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
This robbery is the latest in a string of robberies on SMU’s campus. Two cases of aggravated robbery and one attempted robbery have been reported within days of each other this past April: the first April 17, the second April 21 and the third April 23.
