Auditions are over, and five SMU students remain in a group of 31 singers who are competing to win Mustang Rocks. Mustang Rocks is a singing competition that will take place during remaining men’s basketball games in Moody Coliseum.

Judges from the SMU athletic department narrowed down the finalists from the 85 contestants by searching for great voices, Woody Norris, senior associate Athletic Director, said. Contestants ranged from ages 12 to 72, some professionals, some in middle school.

The first performance will be at Thursday’s game. Michael Yeshion, a first-year student, will compete to move on to the next game, which is Saturday, Feb. 1.

Other student finalists include Cornelius Smith, Teresa Duong, Coco Martinez and Kristi Wolff.
