We’ll be live on Facebook Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. in the Main Quad as the excitement of this year’s National Night Out kicks off at SMU.
SMU Police and University Park Fire invite the SMU community to join them for their annual crime prevention safety event. In addition to the free food, fire demonstration and dunk tank, this year’s event will include an active shooter simulation.
“We are going to demonstrate to the public what an active shooter looks like,” said SMU Police Captain Enrique Jemmott. “And at the same time explain what the three options are; run, hide and fight.”
The active shooter simulation starts at 5:30 p.m. in front of McFarlin Auditorium following the festivities in the Main Quad.
It’s important to know what to do in the event of a real emergency, so mark your calendars or follow The Daily Campus on Facebook for a live reminder!
