Program Council and Not On My Campus will host the third annual “S’mores & Snores” event in the quad between Armstrong and Crum on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Not On My Campus will start the night with a presentation at 8:30 p.m. followed by an outdoor screening of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” at 9:00 p.m.
The outdoor venue will have inflatable furniture and plenty of space for a large attendance. In addition there will be a hot chocolate bar, Krispy Kreme, Tiff’s Treats and, of course, s’mores.
William Hagens, vice president of programming, hopes that students will turn out to the quad to take a break from studying.
“Ferris Bueller embodies how every student feels around midterms,” Hagens said. “It’s a fun throwback that everyone knows. Why not stop by to watch and eat a free cookie?”
The movie follows a wisecracking high school student, Ferris Bueller, who decides to take a mental health day without adult permission. He convinces his troubled best friend and endearing girlfriend to join him in playing hooky. Their Chicago odyssey is a look back at life in the ’80s and a reminder to live in the moment.
