If Halloween is your favorite holiday, you are in luck. The Dallas area has an ample number of haunted houses that you can visit before the big day.
The Crypt is located in Collin County at around 50 minutes from campus. Yes that is a drive, but according to the reviews, you will not be disappointed.
The haunted house opened Sept. 30 and is open every Friday and Saturday until Halloween, and then, of course, it closes Halloween night.
After a yearlong renovation, The Crypt is even scarier than before, according to the owners. Zombies, clowns, ghostly brides and chainsaw carrying monsters roam the halls and alleys of the house.
You only have three more opportunities to go, so you better move fast. Admission is $20 at the door.
Dark Hour is located just a 20-minute drive north of SMU’s campus in Plano.
When you arrive, you are greeted by the undead in a cemetery. If you make it past the witches, you must navigate through Coven Manor. Your trip isn’t over until you’ve made it through the voodoo swamps.
Lucky for you, the creatures of Dark Hour are not permitted to touch you.
You can visit Dark Hour Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. On Halloween night, the haunted house is open from 7 to 10 p.m.
General admission is $28 dollars, but if you want a fast pass that will set you back $50. If you are interested in a back stage tour, you must pay $35 at the ticket booth.
The Parker House Haunted Attraction
The Parker’s Mortuary is a home-based mortuary that was once run by the Parker family until the family died. Mary, the daughter of the Parkers, was left to run the family business from a young age. She became immune to death and killed unsuspecting victims to keep the business alive. Unfortunately for Mary, the FBI shut her operation down.
If the story of the Parker family isn’t scary enough, The Parker House is open until Halloween night. General admission is $25 and a fast scare pass is $40 at the door.
The Parker House is located in Denton, northwest of Dallas.
If haunted houses aren’t your thing, the Dallas area is filled with other opportunities to be scared like haunted hay rides and corn mazes, Halloween scream parks and festivals and parades. Visit Guide Live or Dallas Haunted Houses for more Halloween festivities.
