As other students bared their ‘soles’ Tuesday in an effort to promote awareness for the millions of children who do not have shoes in the world, SMU students showed off their new flip-flops and pedicured toes.
The past two years SMU joined other universities and colleges in “One Day Without Shoes” – a day when people nationwide go barefoot to support TOMS shoes’ efforts.
However, this year was different as SMU as a university did not recognize the day.
Senior McKell Favrot who participated the past two years was shocked that SMU didn’t do anything this year.
“I have gone barefoot the past two years and was bummed I didn’t know about it,” she said. “I would have totally participated.”
