The week before conference championships is a pretty good time to play your best tennis. Two SMU tennis players, Pavi Francis and Adolfo Solares, earned C-USA Players of the Week honors this week. Francis helped the Mustangs extend their winning streak to 11 matches with her eighth and ninth singles wins. The freshman also paired with senior Jennifer Chay to win two consecutive doubles matches.
Solares also helped advance his team to 15-8 for the season and continue its eight-match winning streak. The junior was instrumental in SMU’s upset of No. 27 Rice on Friday, winning both his singles and his doubles matches.
This is the first C-USA honor for each player.
