SMU’s Women and LGBT Center is hosting its 5th annual LGBT Equality Forum this Tuesday, Nov. 13th, in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
According to the organization’s Connect page, the event will “spotlight the voices, experiences, research, and creativity of the LGBT community at SMU and beyond.”
Equality Texas will be addressing the political landscape of the state of Texas as well as the nation in their “State of the State” talk at 4:00 p.m.
Dominque Jackson will be giving this year’s keynote speech at 7:00 p.m. Jackson stars in an FX series, Pose, that focuses on the culture of the Black and Latinx LGBT community in the late 80s.
Jackson will be sharing her personal journey navigating through the world in an effort to increase tolerance and respect for the trans community.
