The Meadows Museum reopened to the public on July 7 with regular hours but at a reduced capacity. New health and safety precautions include advanced sanitation and social-distancing measures, updated signage, and additional training for Meadows staff.

All staff are required to wear face coverings and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while in the museum, according to a press release from Meadows Museum Marketing and PR Manager Carrie Sanger.

“Both cloth and disposable masks will be available for a small donation for visitors who did not bring their own,” according to the press release. The museum has also “developed a new cleaning regimen that includes regular sanitizing of high-touch surfaces” and “will continue to conduct all programming online through the fall.”

Meadows is offering advance-purchase, timed-entry tickets and protective acrylic panels have been installed at the Admissions Desk and Museum Shop workstations. Hand sanitizer units are stationed throughout the building, and social distancing markers are installed at the entrance and in elevators.

Meadows Museum asks that visitors follow social distancing guidelines, follow posted room capacities for all public spaces within the museum, and stay home if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

There are still tickets available for purchase at the admissions desk, subject to availability. Admission is free to all students, faculty, and staff of SMU.
