The Phi Delta Theta fraternity was placed on a one year deferred suspension Wednesday night after previously being on probation.

According to SMU Fraternity and Sorority Life community standards, “An active chapter’s suspension is deferred (not enforced) with various sanctions and requirements levied against an organization. Failure to adhere to the conditions of deferred suspension may result in the enforcement of suspension.”

The Daily Campus has reached out to Director of SMU News and Communications Kent Best for comments, but those requests have not been returned at this time.

Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity is also out of good standing with the university and faces two years of suspension.
