Vagina Monologues

The Women’s Interest Network is sponsoring the fourth-annual Vagina Monologues on Friday and Saturday. The shows will take place at 8 p.m. on both nights. SMU started presenting the Vagina Monologues three years ago. SMU alumna Sarah Thomas (’04) started the event in 2001 and also directed it that year. This year’s director is Tish Mussey-Hitt. The performance is always done the weekend before Valentine’s Day. Cast members in this year’s production include Alex Cassar, Alexandra Wesolowski, Amelia Jones, Cassie Steele, Christin Siems, Jennifer Nix, Jill Brandenberg, Karoline Kuss, Kelly Smith, Kathleen Jauregui, Lauren Hayden, Maia OreAbitbol, Mariel Mickens, Stevie Salas, Stacy Wohead, Sterling Morriss and Tiana Aldora Lightfoot. Tickets to the performance are $7 for students and $15 for everyone else. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Hughes-Trigg Mane Desk or at the door on the night of the event. Pony is accepted. All proceeds go to The Family Place, a women’s shelter for victims of domestic abuse. The shelter also provides counseling and help in finding employment for women.
