Although it may seem well into the future, now is the annual time for the Student Body Officer, Student Senate and Senior Class Council application deadline. For those who are looking to get involved next year, it’s your lucky day to be reading this! The role of the senators is to represent the fellow students of the school they are enrolled in, as well as always being on the look out for student issues across the SMU community. Student Senate has three powers: Chartering Student Organizations, revising the Student Code of Conduct and allocating student fees, which is about $650,000 per year. Student Senate meets Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-7:30 p.m. in the Hughes-Trigg Forum.

Every year, the process of electing representatives to serve the student body occurs, with the elections taking place in late February. This year, the following positions are available:

Student Body Officer:

Student Body President

Student Body Vice-President

Student Body Secretary
