The Department of Public Safety will be at the flagpole today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide driver’s license services to students. The department will be renewing licenses and ID cards — you can do this up to a year before your license expires. You can also apply for a Texas ID card or get your old one renewed. Forms will be available for getting a duplicate driver’s license or duplicate ID card. You can also apply for a transfer of an out-of-state license to a Texas license. DPS will only be providing services that don’t require an examination. A few reminders: DPS only accepts cash or personal check, the maximum renewal fee for a driver’s license is $24, the maximum renewal fee for a commercial license is $60, the maximum ID renewal fee is $15 and a duplicate license or ID card fee is $10.
