The deadline is approaching for University Award nominations. Nomination forms are due this Friday, Feb. 25 by 5 pm to the Dean of Student Life. Any member of the SMU community is invited to submit a candidate. The prestigious “M” Award is the highest honor and is given to those who have served the university in outstanding ways. Students who graduate by August 2005 and staff with at least six years of service to SMU are qualified for the “M.” Remaining awards are for students only, including the Umphrey Lee Award, the Presidential Award of Excellence for Scholar/Leader and Scholar/Volunteer, the Avella Winn Hay Award and the John L. Freehafer Award. Each award has individual qualifications that must be met in order to be nominated. Visit smu.edu/studentlife/awards.asp for more information and downloads.
