Dear Daily Campus,

I found “The true meaning of equality” by Daniel Whittle in this Friday’s Daily Campus completely appalling. Does Whittle really believe that everyone has equal rights now? It is common knowledge that women and minorities are still paid less than white males for doing the same work. Is that equality? Minority groups suffer poverty more than whites. Is that equality? Does Whittle really believe that a black woman receives the same privileges that he does as a white male? Without civil rights activists women would still be vacuuming in heels and pearls, and black people would still be slaves. But I guess that does not sound so bad if you are a white male. Escaping poverty and discrimination has nothing to do with being lazy. If a large group of black people got together and tied a white man to the back of a truck, and this sort of generally happened then activists would support greater protection for white males. The article was bigoted pompous ignorant fluff. Whittle takes offense to these laws, but probably has not or will not be a victim of hate crime. Hopefully one day he will realize all of the special treatment that he has received and will continue to receive because of his race and sex. Until then may his house be filled with roaches.
