Letter to the Editor

Weekend off track editorial

I can’t believe how incredibly insensitive the Editorial Board was in their comment. You said that the shuttle “allows students to bypass the traffic and panhandlers,” insinuating that these unfortunate people that have to beg for a living want to be there, that they like to stand in the cold, rain, heat or worse to get enough money to survive. How dare you, in your privileged world, look down on them and treat them as a nuisance on the level of traffic. They are people, they deserve respect not your ridicule. Perhaps next time you should consider your words before you so harshly condemn them to their corner of the world.
