Women’s tennis player Halley Rambally is one of 12 student athletes to receive a Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship.
The $4,000 scholarships are awarded annually by the C-USA Faculty Athletics Representatives.
“It really feels good to be awarded this scholarship,” Rambally said. She added being a student athlete and making good grades is a difficult task, and it honed her time management skills, as well as helped her build a strong dedication to her work.
“To get this scholarship makes it even better,” she said.
Rambally served as co-captain of the women’s team last season, and finishing 22-9 this season. She was named to the C-USA all conference third team.
In her four-year career on the women’s tennis team, she earned the second best single-season winning percentage (.875) in SMU history during the 2004-2005, and routinely played doubles matches with her twin sister, Brooke Rambally.
“That was a lot of fun because we know each other’s games very well,” she said.
Rambally graduated with a biochemistry degree, and was named to the Honor Roll with High Distinction for seven straight semesters, as well as the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team twice.
Rambally will attend the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston, where she will study to become a family practice doctor.
