The gay community of Dallas is celebrating National Coming Out Day today. According to a press release from event organizers, Level Vodka and Out Magazine are teaming up to present the “Level Out” party at Station 4 on Cedar Springs Road. The event will benefit the Human Rights Campaign, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and Lambda Legal, an organization that does legal work for gays, lesbians and people with HIV/AIDS. The party starts at 9 p.m. and is for people 18 or older.
The party is being held in conjunction with the International Gay and Lesbian World Travel Expo, which is the same day and has more than 70 companies looking to attract the gay and lesbian market. “This is a major testament to the members of the Dallas community, both gay and straight, who worked very hard to secure the prestigious International Gay and Lesbian World Travel Expo’s first foray into Texas and the Southwest,” said Cordey Lash, the Level Out event co-organizer.
