SMU Volleyball plays TCU for Iron Spike

SMU women’s volleyball joins a campus-wide rivalry today against Texas Christian University. The Mustangs will host the match at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum.

The two teams have not played one another since 2001. Since SMU has had volleyball in 1996, the two teams have played each other in 12 games with the Mustangs going 9-3 against the Horned Frogs.

According to head coach Lisa Seifert, it is rumored that TCU would not agree to play against the Mustangs until they believed they would be victorious. The two teams have now signed a four-year play contract.

Although this is solely a rumor, it should be enough to give the Mustang players, coaches and fans enough drive to come out strong tonight.
